    Hello and welcome!

Are you planning to move to Portugal and are worried about the moving process? One of the first steps to succeed with your expatriation is to properly prepare yourself for the move.

How should you arrange the move? Can you do-it-yourself with help from friends, or do you need help from a professional international mover?

What do you plan to take and to leave? Will you need all your furniture, or will it be easier/cheaper to buy most things once you have arrived? Are electrical appliances compatible in Portugal?

How can you bring your car? Is it worth it?

What tips and advice can you share with us about your move to Portugal? If you are preparing for your move currently – what questions do you have? If you have already completed a move – what are your tips?

    Thanks in advance for sharing!

    Studying in Portugal and burocracy

    Hi,
I'm about to move to Portugal to study (master degree). Not as an erasmus student bat as a regular student.
I'm trying to figure out updated burocracy procedures...like health ensurance, visa, address declaration etc.
I've looked around on some posts here in the site, and on the embassy website but I can't find proper clear information.
Any suggestion where I could find it?
(I'm a Eu citizen (Italian) and applied for a master degree in a portuguese university)
    thank you very much

    Health Insurance

    Hello!

Normally I have a private health insurance, but I read that if you work in Portugal that you get free health care. Is this enough or do you need an extra private insurance to cover health expenses?

    Thanks!
    Tes

    Re: Health Insurance

    Hello and welcome on EasyExpat.com.

You should refer to our article about healthcare in Portugal: http://www.easyexpat.com/en/guides/port ... tioner.htm

As in many other countries, you might want to complement the basic free healthcare system by a private insurance for better cover (especially on specialist treatment).
