hi i am an irish Citizen living in the UK, and marrying my JAMAICAN fiance in 4 weeks, we have tried so many ways to get him to even have a holiday in the UK, but the BHK in Kingston, so far have refused, we appealed the working holiday decision of a refusal, we appealed in Feb 2005 and our case has not been heard - i recently got a letter from the Appeals Tribunal, who said they have now set a date sept 6th 2006 ( after 17mths!! ridicolous!!) - but now we cant go to that appeal, as we are now getting married- and he cannot get a working holiday visa, unless he is single-

    so my new worries are:

IS IT HARD TO GET A EEA FAMILY MEMBER PERMIT?
    HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?
WILL THEY INTERVIEW ME AND HIM??

i live and work in the UK, for the past year ?

anyone got any advice for me please????

    TRIPLE H

i have been advised to fill out an EEA1 residence application, and put a copy of the application into our 'papers pack' to be included in the ''eea family member permit visa''-does this need to be done, i mean i have a copy of it for the ''go'' but is it necessary to show, as a copy of my passport and work contract and payslips, should be enough?

what do u think? should i put it in with the application

i am so happy!! we got it, i logged all the paper work - i read all your different forums, and peoples lists of what the ECO officers were asking for, i gave them, so much information:
all my photo ID's ( cert Copy) All bank statements and proof for any large lodgments expenses etc, my employment contract, current letter from employer confirming present salary, utility bills in my name, flat mates references, all documentation regarding estate agents and or new apartment, copies of cheque for deposit and receipt etc, family letters references, copy marriage liscence, photos wedding, receipt wedding expenses, honeymoon, telephone bills, mobile, landline, call cards etc,i put so much information in,and he was denied holiday visa's before, but these proved as back up for our relationship as it was ongoing for 2yrs,- and they made the decision on the paperwork enclosed with application, and i could not believe it, i called them and they said they didnt need an interview, as i provided enough paperwork with his application we are so happy, and its thanks only to the advice i got on this website...
i had been quoted everything from £1500- £600 for lawyer to do this for me, and we did it all overselves and for nothing, just took time, to get all the correct paper work, thank you so much for your help......

well i know i have got a good job and make a good bit of money, but i had other dependents on me, for a while temp, and i gave them information on this, my dependent is working now, so its ok my money is my own now.

but the finances also drained by all the trips to Caribbean and the phone calls, etc etc,it all adds, up, but i did have a lot of money in the accounts, so i was ok.
but the main thing is, that you can show you can support your partner without them getting government money, and we know that government only give about £60 a week, so once you have flat/place to stay and money coming in, thats the main thing.

Triple H- knows and i know, and other people know this permit is starting to get harder to get, but if you be truthful, and give them everything that has been listed on this website, i gave them everything- college diploma, degree, work ref's, charcter ref's,detailed letter, how we met, when he applied for previous visa, why he got turned down, my feelings on that, how he was given irish visas few times, no issues...and they had so much information they never even looked for an interview, because it all checked out......

i am so confident now, that if you are truthful and have all your doc's you will get this visa/permit.

i am so happy, and i know what you are going through because for 2 yrs, my husband was denied, 2 different visa, and we appealed one took 19mths to appeal the Working Holiday Visa, and the reasoning for this was so pathetic to me, and petty......

This is a great website so detailed. and everyone in the same, boat and it saved us a fortune on lawyers, i cant believe i had lawyers telling me £1500 and they were not gauranteeing he would get it, but they still had to be paid!! crazy, only for this website and i came accross it by accident, on the very day i was going to tel a lawyer to go ahead, and i would pay him, thank god i saw this, and i saved me and my husband a packet!!!

yes for sure we r goin 2 be truthful , my wife has sent them all documents they required and she also gave them pictures of us together and western uniion money transfer reciepts showing that i support her... but 2day my wife called me n said that they sent her back all documents cus they wanted photocopy of original along with the original copies

and when she sent them through fedEx she saw a man who was applyin for a settlement visa and she said that he had some savings about £3500
she became so worried cus what i sent her was just the bank statements which shows my salary that goes in and that finishes so quickly even b4 the month finishes,, and that made her really worried

i just wanted to make sure more (money doesnt make a different)???

well mate again congratulation and good luck to us and to everyone

    money

well, i also stated that i will be saving money, when he comes, because the travel of me going out there every few months, was going to stop, the crazy phone bills were going to stop, and no more living expenses i had to pay for my dependent overseas as they would be with me.
you will be fine please god!

    bless
