    I am a UK Citizen my boyfriend is from the USA. I am in the UK and he is in the USA.

    We want to marry so he can come live and work in the UK with me. What's the best way of doing it?

    1. Marry in the USA and come to UK together

    I heard we have to validate the marriage by visiting the UK embassy in Washington before we return to the UK?

    Or can we 'simply' get on a flight and turn up with our marriage certificate at the UK border?


    2. Marry in India (because that is where we want to get married)

    So we turn up at the airport with the certificate and they let us in if they believe it to be a genuine marriage.

    ALSO -

    Would that then mean he was able to work right away?

    They would only let him in for 6 months as they did my wife, i had to go back to lousiana with her at the end of 6 months and send offf for her visa. But supporting your partner for 6 months hits a huge hole financially as they cant work. So best to apply for visa first
