    Hi,

My grandfother was born in Poland and after 1920 immigrated to Belguim.
He never recieved his belgian citizenship and died in the holocaust in Aushwitz.

I am guessing he was a polish citizen until the day he died.
I also have a copy of his birth certificate from 1903.

    My questions are:

    1. In order to get my polish citizenship and passport i need to first confirm my grandfather's polish citizenship? and then my father etc'?
    2. Do i need original documents (birth certificate etc') in roder to confirm this or the copy i have from the archive is enough?
    3. Do you think i can do this on my own or do i need a lawyer?

    Thanks,
