    Hello you all,

I was thinking... If I am marrying my English boyfriend at the Church of England within the 6 months visitor entry, will I still have to get out of the country and ask for a special visa to be allowed back or can I stay in the country and ask the papers from here?

    Thanks again :)

    Hi there

My Fiance (UK citizen) and I (NZ citizen on a visitor visa) are to marry without a COA in the COE in April. We have been advised by the Home Office that a visitor visa cannot be changed to a spousal visa if I intend to stay. So once my visa is up I must leave the country. As we intended to leave and settle in NZ this really didn't concern us. There are some very interesting sites within this forum which also confirms this.

    Good Luck

    Hi

Just a quick update. We recieved our common licence from the COE (no COA required) after residing in England for 15 days last Monday. My fiance and I were married on Saturday with our family and friends. Fantastic day. Looking forward to our move now to NZ. No hassles only had to swear an affidavid to say we completed our stay (no proof required) at a Hotel in England. In another site a similar problem arose but they went along the same route as we did, made an appointment with Home Office in England after their wedding and recieved their FLR in three hours after a fee of £500. He said that the HO had no problems with his wifes visa only that they were financially able to support themselves. Could be the way to go. Good Luck
