Tusen Fryd Amusement Park
Rides, shopping, and restaurants. The latest ride is the SpinSpider, which "throws" you 44 meters (144 feet) up in the air at speeds of up to 115 km/h (72 mph). The park has many other rides, including the ThunderCoaster, one of the world's best wooden rollercoasters.
The park also features Barnas Fryd, an area especially made for the youngest children. In summer, there is a swimming pool, swimming river, a triple slide and beach volleyball.

The Royal Palace can be explored by tours throughout the summertime. , The tickets for the tour must be bought in advance from a post office. If there are vacant spots in a tour, they sell the remaining tickets at the Palace itself to people waiting in line who don't already have tickets. There are about 2 tours in English on weekdays English-language tour

This Summer Evening Cruise offers rides on traditional wooden boats. A traditional Norwegian prawn buffet is included in the price: Prawns "au naturelle", lemon, mayonnaise, bread and butter.

Festivals

January

Disney on Ice - Features ice skating performances by some of Walt Disney's best loved characters. Held at the Oslo Spektrum on Sonja Henies Plass.

March

Inferno Metal Festival- Continuing into April, this festival features heavy metal bands from around the region, and around the globe.

May

Norwegian Constitution Day - The 17th of May is cause for celebration in Norway. Festivities commemorate the historic liberation from Denmark on May 17th, 1814.

June

Norwegian Wood - Annual 4-day rock festival in the open-air bath Frognerbadet in Oslo. There are usually big stars, as well as unknown Norwegian bands.

August

Bollywood Fest - combination dance and film festival, this event celebrates the look and style of India.

Oslo Jazz Festival - Modern jazz with around 75 different concerts. Usually has about 18,000 visitors.

September

Ultima - Running from late September to early October, this modern music festival started here in the early 1990s.

November

Oslo International Film Festival- Featuring some of the best films of the year, both local and international.

December

Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony - Start of the seasonal Norwegian festivities. begins each year at this time, when the enormous Christmas Tree on the University Square (Universitetsplassen) is illuminated, a somewhat chilly outdoor ceremony attended by literally thousands
