Many students decide to volunteer overseas during a gap year. It is a wonderful way of gaining valuable experience and many times it is something the student never forgets. Even people who are long past student age often volunteer overseas. No matter what your age or circumstances, volunteering is a great way to meet other people and the work, while often hard, can be very rewarding. voluntary services are usually coordinated by a non-profit or public sector organization, and ordinarily do not pay any wages, although you may have your expenses covered.

However, you may receive a living wage, accommodations or a small amount of money for personal care.

a free volunteer organization
Conviven is a community center in Mataderos neighborhood where anyone can volunteer for free...you have to be a self-started but it's super hands-on and the neighbors who work there are really sweet.
