Hello and welcome to EasyExpat.com -

This topic is specifically dedicated to new comers in South Africa. We invite you to introduce yourself here!

Why have you come here? Is it for internship? Studies? A job? Or simply in order to discover new lands?

If you have already secured a job, how did you find it? How long do you think you will stay in South Africa?

How was your move? What happened for your first steps here?

What was the easiest thing / the most difficult to adapt to?

Thanks in advance for your answers and here’s to a good discussion! :D

The best place for you to start on expat information in South Africa is the Guide to Johannesburg. It provides info on accommodation, entertainment, transportation, and more. It includes information on renting in Johannesburg, as well as short-term accommodation.

I also highly recommend the articles on Life in South Africa via our services site, Expat-Quotes. Sine was a long-time expat in South Africa and has great pieces like Choosing a Place to Live in South Africa. You can learn more about her experience through her expat in South Africa interview on BlogExpat, as well as at her blog, Joburg Expat.

Welcome to the community & hope these tips are of help!
