    Hi

We (a 30 something couple) are moving to Milan in November and were wondering if anyone has any advice for which area to look for an apartment? We will be looking for a two bedroom place and would like to be quite central in a nice area with restaurants, supermarkets, bars etc.

We will be visiting in the next few weeks to have a look around, so any suggestions are welcome, our budget is about 1000 euros. Any other hints or tips are also welcome!

    Many thanks

Hi there, we just moved to Milan and live Piazza Gramsci. Nice area, 10 min from Duomo, 5 min to il Castello, nice place.

the trains in milan are great and mostly on time, look outside the city, there are some beautiful villages around where your money will go a lot further. beware the property agent, both seller and buyer have to pay commision.

Thanks for the help so far. By property agents do you mean the companies that advertise on casaclick.it and casa.it? When we visited Milan we spotted lots of adverts on the outside of buildings for flats to rent - would this be a better option?

That's a solution. If they are linked to estate agents you will have also a website probably where you can refer to.
