Hi there. I'm a Singaporean relocating to work in Los Angeles this coming July. The company is offering an overseas allowance of USD2500 which will cover for the following:

    1) Rental of apartment
    2) Utilities
    3) Transport & gas (depending if there is a company car available, if not, I will have to buy one)
    4) Phone and overseas calls charges

There are no other allowances given (hardship/relocation), but the company will arrange to pay for my tax in US. As such, I would like to know if this amount is workable.

I'm really looking forward to working in Los Angeles, and would appreciate it if anyone has any advice to offer, especially on a suitable neighborhood to live in.

    Cheers.
    Junius
