Well, we've got EEA family permit twice now, one in Lithuania, June, 2007, one in France, December, 2008. For the first one we submitted application, marriage certificate and bank statement, for the second - only application and marriage certificate.

The right to live with your spouse is defined by EC law. If they have doubts about relationship they can request additional information but never happened to us.

True, I just don't want everyone to think that you need to include things like pictures and honeymoon hotel bills as mandatory documents.

With regards to refusal letters, I believe they have to provide the reason, do you know of any examples of what reasons they provide in typical refusal letters? That might be useful to know for future.

i would like to say that the countries that issued with visa doesnt require the documents that british embassy do. anyway it is true that they have to tell you why they refuse you in their leeter. you can get refused for many reasons such as if your sponsors financial conditions are weak, if the officer find your it marriage of convenience or if your sponsors empolyment is not proved , there is so many things to refuse you. are u thinking about cuming to uk

sercan, i'm living in the UK for 1,5 years now, as i've mentioned we've had experience in getting EEA family permit twice, FMRS stamp and EEA2 application. Although our strategy is a bit different, i.e. know your rights well and submit the minimum documents needed.

well sueno im quite suprised with what you say because i have lived in uk for over 8 years now and i never heard any application has been accepted for visa as you saybut i agree with you as if you know your rights then ho has no right to refuse your application. so do u have residence card now and i got one question as well im here by eea family permitn i only came last week when shall i apply for residence card or fmrs and what documents should i submt and should i submit the application through a solicitor? i mean do i have to make ho belive my case anymore or is it like that once the visa is given the next application only requires employment and marriage certificate thx

There can be more than one possibility but depending on what kind of visa do you have. As you mentioned EEA Family Permit but you called it visitor visa that you got for tourism purpose ? Is it the normal EEA Family Permit ? for six months ? Does it mention 'To Accompany/To Join' ? and most importantly, are you allowed to work ??

    Good luck

    Hi sueno2007 and sercan,

I enjoyed both your contributions and both have good points in your arguments.I reckon experience speaks better than anything else, but the thing with Home Office is they treat issues case by case.

Can both of you advise on a case of partners in DURABLE RELATIONSHIP ,been together for over 2 years and have proofs that they live together, have been on holiday together and have hotel bills and loads of photos during the holiday, but no marriage yet and obviously no honeymoon
