Hello everyone, During your expatriation, you probably want to discover the country and visit many places. To avoid going over your budget, we suggest here to share information about inexpensive activities and free leisure that we find in Berlin. What are the free activities in Berlin? What are the good plans for economic leisure? Are there specific days offering discounts or free admissions (in museums or parks for example)? Thank you for sharing your experience and advice.
The Kulturbrauerei in Prenzlauer Berg also has events going on (like the popular Christmas market on now), but I wasn't aware of the free museum on the DDR until a recent visit. The free Museum in der Kulturbrauerei (Museum in der Kulturbrauerei Berlin) covers everyday life in East Berlin with a variety of exhibits and rooms. It is very well laid-out and in a fantastic location. I highly recommend if you are in the area.
Heads up! This week is the 30th anniversary since the fall of the Berlin Wall. There are many events taking place in seven locations throughout the city during the next 7 days. I went to see the set-up of the art installation on Straße des 17. Juni yesterday and it was impressive. For more events, check out the schedule: 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin wall
