I am so glad we finally got asnwers we needed, although I will feel even better when somebody from IND confirms this.
I am already looking for work, it's not easy. When you get here go to Jobcentre each morning and call or send CVs wherever you can. Additionally to that I am going to knock from door to door until someone hires me.
Anyway, my husbands Family Permit doesn't mention "to join" or "to accompany", because half of the sentence is broken. I am sure though that it is supposed to say "to accompany" cuz we arrived here together.

Also, I am NOT sure if I am right but I read somewhere on the Internet that family permits (even thogh they are for 6 months only) are valid for unlimited time as long as the person holding it stays inside the UK.
If the person leaves the UK after he permit is expired already, he has to apply for a new one before entering the UK again. I'll try to find that information and give you the link.

Where in lOndon are you going to stay?

Just read your reply here before aleks721 (she's actually my wife). Based on what you said above, I have an inherent right to work based on my association/relation to my wife (whose the EEA National) and should IND ask for proof, I have our marriage certificate documents plus my visa says VISA EEA Family Permit: Family Member, which we applied in the UK Embassy in New York (as we were in the US at the time).

I guess now, having read other threads and replies here, it's 2 scenarios:

Scenario A:
My wife finds work first before me, thus registers for WRS, and once she receives her card and other documents, I apply for the residence permit via the EEC3 form, of whcih will include her WRS reference number, and then this permit actually takes over the family permit I originally have that expires January 2006.

Scenario B:
I find work first than her (the right to work has been established above), and my wife files for the residence permit EEC1 form, citing "self sufficient person" as my employment and salary is enough to support her. When we get the approval, does this mean that we basically "bypassed" the waiting time in scenario A for her to work for 12 months prior to filing for the residence permit, and that we now have the right of free movement, just like other Brits?

My husband called the IND about 3 weeks ago and the officer told him good news, our husbands CAN WORK right away after we arrive in the UK. My husband is already looking for work actively and has attended a few interviews so far.

Anyway, he has posted a long mesage on this forum so please read it as it will give you a very clear picture of our situation.
