    wow, lots of responses!! guess the best solution to all this is to start a big and happy informal conversation group right here in paris..so wht say?

    how about everybody meeting in front of fontaine st michel on sunday say about 5 pm? just an idea, all suggestions are welcome

    Nah, that's gonna be very tricky to find people, as this place gets crowded very easily.

    If you fancy organising this, here's a bunch of suggestions:

    You'll be better off giving your mobile number and asking people to meet up in a pub/bistrot/café or something.

    Make it central, otherwise people are likely not to come. Also, pick up a place in advance so that people can arrive a bit late if they need to (rather than having to wait 2 hours for everyone at St-Michel).

    A lot of people leave the city during the week-ends, so you might prefer to do that on an weekday evening, say after 19:00.

    If you guys organise that on a weekday evening, I might join you, although it's highly possible I'd join you on a saturday or sunday too :)

    Thanks a lot for your mail.It had some excellent ideas, sure can say tht you are veteran in these kinds of things!

    So where do i begin? I am sure after all these brainstorming sessions on this forum i dont expect for this to actually happen till about a month or so.Anyways we made a small iniative ateast.I am sure this could be solution for all the conversational exchange problems, also a chance to meet like-minded people, go out and have fun with, maybe also a chance to meet ur prince charming or cinderella!..what say?

    So people :headscratch:

    1. where do we meet?
    2. What time? Which day?
    3. Should we drop this whole thing??? ( hope not!)

    All kinds of suggesstions both sane and insane are welcome! ;-)

    well, unfortunately i didnt get any enthusiastic responses but still i think it might take some time. Anyways matt a french guy seems interested, i will send you both an email and see how we 3( or more, some of my other friends too) could meet up and catch a drink or so!...how abt it?

    Why don't you meet on Thursday for example. It's during a weekday, close to the weekend, and people will probably find it more convenient to join after work...

    Yup, I've been away a lot recently (in the last 2 months, I've spent more time abroad than in my flat ), so I couldn't be bothered to organise anything.

    But I'm cool with your proposition. What about setting-up the first meeting on the Thursday 29, at 7pm, in a bar or a pub (Cafe OZ, anyone?).

    We post a message on the board, send nice e-mails to all the people that mentioned an interest in meeting other people in Paris recently (last 2-3 weeks), and see what happens ?

    Just to give you some updates


    1.
    Hi,

    it is really cool that you finaly manage to gather everybody. However, as I already wrote on the easyexpat site, I already have something planned on thursday: we gather with a bunch of people from work (all french), to talk in english! So I was thinking that if you really have a french/english night on thursday we could all join you (???).

    So, what do you say? Do you think this would be okay? I already sent my request to Lam... I hope we can arrange something!
