    Hello again,

Does anyone have a sample of the EEA letter saying they will be moving to UK together with the non-EEA partner?

    Thanks in advance,
    Helbert

    Hello and welcome.

The Guide to London offers a complete visas in the UK section with information on how to apply. You should also check out "Obtaining a Visa to Live, Study and Work: the United Kingdom".

I have already answered some similar questions regarding a EEA member travelling with a non EEA spouse (you can have a look for example  here).

You will find more information on the UK Border agency website, especially the Part 8 - Family members.

Best of luck and keep us informed of the outcome :)

    Hi there,

My Husband recently obtained an EEA family permit, he was joining me in the UK, but you can just change this by "moving together", see below the letter he provided with the application form:

These are a whole lots of supporting docs you have provided for the immigration officer at the embassy... You have really tried for your husband and am glad he has been given the EEA family permit well mine is a bit different as am just going for an holiday in the UK as my spouse is an eu national though I have provided what I can and included a school letter which knows about my traveling and some other docs... I can't wait for the joyous moment to come soon... Once more thanks a lot for your message and getting me enlightened about all this process of this family permit...

Well, our situation was a bit special, I know my husband since only March 2012 and we have been married on September, I was really afraid they would think it was a marriage of convenience...
When did you applied for the EEA family permit?
Hope you'll get a favourable response very soon :)

Well, every situation is special and I just believe that it's just matter of luck! I have been with my EU national for 2years now, we got married in September, I applied for the EEA family permit in this month (December), I pray to get a favourable response also does it matter someone has to wait for lengthy period before someone can put in the application at the British Embassy after marriage or when someone is been issued 5years of residence permit of the EU national country?

    EEA extension

An EEA Family Permit is initially granted for six months on entry clearance to allow you and your family to enter the UK and settle in.

    You will have 2 options

1- You can apply for a residence card using application form EEA2 (average processing time around 3-6 months). Note that Residence cards are not immediately available to all family members (some must have worked fro 12 months in the UK).
    http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... /eea21.pdf

2- or get a new EEA family permit every 6 months outside UK (any country - you can actually get your EEA permit at any British diplomatic post that issues visas ). You cannot extend your permit within UK.

You can also have a look at our other expat site for Visa/Immigration services for the UK.
