    Hi all,
I am curious to know if being listed on the Volkesliste as a Volksdeutche before 1945 resulted in loss of Polish citizenship. Many Polish people were coerced into accepting Volkesdeutsche status, for example through family ties such as being married to a German person. I understand from the Wikipedia entry that being a Volkesdeutsche did not mean that a person officially had German citizenship. I wonder how Volkesdeutsche status affected Polish citizenship if at all.
If anyone has any information on this it would be great.

Just to clarify. I am speaking of Polish people who joined the Volkesliste, and what effect this would have on their Polish citizenship.
I know that most Volksdeutsche were ethnic Germans living outside Germany

Can you elaborate a bit more. From what I understand of the question being posed, was what effect did being on the list have to do with the retention or loss of citizenship from Poland. I think the poster was aware that those on the list were of German heritage as was my grandfather. But as far as I am aware he never lost his Polish citizenship. I do have a access to a document that calls into question the validity of the citizenship, but does not state that he lost it.
