Thank you all for your help!

I'll be providing a notarized copy of my passport and birth certificate (i'm the sponsor) - will this be enough ID for the UK Broader Agencies?

I'll be sending across my bank statements, payslips etc... too.

Will a notarized copy from a solicitors be okay, or does it need to be notarized by someone in particular?

    Thanks!

From a solicitors is fine. Ask for a "certified copy" - notarized copies are international and very expensive, and you only need a certified copy!

Whether you need a visa is determined by nationality not status, so if you would usually need a visa to travel from Nigeria to Ireland, then you will need one to travel from the UK to Ireland.

You can go to Northern Ireland without one as it's part of the UK, but not the Republic of Ireland.

    Hi all,

Just wondering if someone could help put my mind to rest…

I’ve now submitted the fiancée visa to New York… I sent all paperwork to them 2 weeks ago, and they received everything last Tuesday. I still have not heard anything from them.

Neither my fiancée or I have received any phone calls, emails or communication.

Is this normal? Has anyone else experienced this?

    Thanks,

    Ali.

It's not unusual for you not to receive any communication until they make a decision. Current visa processing times seem to be 2 - 3 weeks. If they definitely have it, and you put your current contact details on there, it should be fine.

Did you use the online application? If so, it will be that email address that you get notifications to.

I have my fingers crossed for you & your fiancee!

    Hi All,

Thank you for sharing all your views. it was really helpful to understand the requirements for Fiance visa. But I still have some queries. it would great if anyone can help me with a right answer.

I have Indian Citizenship, on my HSMP visa (Highly Skilled Migrant Program) which allows me to stay and work in UK. My Fiance is in India and i want her to come here in UK on fiance visa. I got 3 questions.
    1) My HSMP visa is about to expire in 3 months after which i am eligible to apply for indefinite leave to remain or Permanent residency (PR) as i will be completing 5 years on HSMP visa in UK. Can i still apply for fiance visa now or i have to wait till i get my indefinite leave to remain?
    2) if I am eligible to apply now then what will be duration of visa my fiance will get?
    3) How long does it takes for visa to come once applied?

    Thank you in advance.

    Atul

    Hi Atul,

I am sorry - but I have no experience with regards to Indian visa and requirements and can't offer any help.
