    Hello Sir,

I am EEA national (Portugal) living in Uk from 06th April 2012 and doing job from 19th May. My wife is non-EEA national (Pakistan) she want to apply EEA family permit from Pakistan and want to settle with me here in Uk.

New immigration law 2012 will apply on 09th July for non-EEA national. But I am confuse about new law, will also apply on my family when she apply for family permit or new law only for British nationals.

And what documents required for EEA family permit from Pakistan.

    Best regards,

    Welcome to EasyExpat! :D

The best place to start would be the Expat Guide to London and section on visas, as well as Expat FAQ with information on the

The UK Border Control offers a helpful guide for what visas you are eligible for and what to do: http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas ... ed-a-visa/

Anyone else have personal advice to offer?

The changes which came in today relating to the family immigration rules do NOT apply to EEA nationals applying for family permits.

There are some changes coming in on 16 July for EEA applications, but none of them apply to your situation.

The documents you'd need would be the application, passports & photos as for every application, proof of your Portuguese nationality (eg passport), proof of your employment (eg payslips), proof of your marriage (eg marriage certificate) and proof of your accommodation (eg tenancy agreement.)

The rules for spouses under the EEA rules are simply that (a) you are married and (b) you are in employment (or studying or self-employed or retired.) As long as you satisfy those criteria she should be accepted.
