Is there some French people who have worked in UK and are going to pay their taxes in France ? I worked in the UK from May to December 2011 (7 months) and I paid my taxes in the UK. But I was still a student in FRance for the whole period and I would like to be declared in France with my father for that same year if this is more interesting for him.
    - Is that possible, or the fact that I worked more than 6 months abroad (despite the fact I was a student) is a problem ?
    - And is it form 2047 that I need to fill ?
    - Finally, what can I do to have the money I paid in the UK back ? (to avoid double taxation).
I read the convention between FR and UK but it is quite complicated. If someone can help, that would be highly appreciated :)

Two issues that you need help with 1. Resident or not and 2. Who you worked for and what your contract is. This depends upon whether you came to work in UK on a temporary secondment i.e. you worked for a French company in UK or if you came to work in UK for a UK company. If you came to UK with intention of being resident and came to work in UK for UK firm then you are liable to tax in UK. You will not get double taxed though. If you came on secondment via a French company then it may be different. Resident in UK has many meanings based upon the number of days you were in UK and what your intention was. A good explanation of UK resident can be found at
