    Hi everyone,

Firstly I'll start with a small background on myself, I am 25 years old and have been employed for over 3 years in London as a 3D Modeller for a simulation company, my skills range from real time work to creating visualisations (which is the area I'd like to get into) I also graduated in 2007 with a 2.1 in Media Technology with business BSc Degree.
Now, what do I want? Basically I'm after a big massive change in my life, I want to relocate and start a fresh, preferable I would like to carry on as a 3D Artist/Modeller but I would be willing to change my career path. I visited Montréal last year, and something about this place just made me well fall in love!

So I'd kindly ask please if anyone has information on where to go for job vacancies, or if anyone possibly knows of any creative or visualisation companies in Montréal? I would appreciate if anyone is kind enough to provide information about paid internships too.
Any kind of information relating to this would be greatly appreciated since I know no one who lives in Montréal.

Thanks in advanced for your answers

    Rickie

    Hi Rickie-
have you checked out EasyExpat's guide to Montreal (http://www.easyexpat.com/en/montreal.htm)? It is a good place to get acquainted with the city.

As for jobs- the section on employment lists:
http://www.law.mcgill.ca/students/cpo_links-en.htm :for part time and summer positions, law societies, bar associations, legal career directories, general employment information… so as you understood, it's mainly for legal career.

    Hi Rickie,

I've been in the same situation. Actually I've already lived in Montreal for 8 months and I loved it. Although the job what I found was ok but definately not what I really enjoy to do, just got enough money to live.
I can tell you my experiences: When I arrived at the first time I took a risk and started to find a job by my self in a Monday morning. I went to deferent places with my printed CV and I gave to the companies' HR people in hotels at downtown. I found a job in 2 days. Not kidding 2 days if you are lucky you can find a job to earn money. That is ok for a good start and then you can go for a better one but in the meantime I can say you should go for it and enjoy Montreal it is a really good city.
Maybe one day we gonna meet there. :D

    Regards,
    Viki
