My fiance is an Italian national who lives and works in UK for about 6 months now. He applied and got his " registration certificate " in August. I'd like to join him in UK to get married, so we decided to apply for a UK fiance visa.


Through my search in UK immigration law, I noticed that the sponsor for fiance visa should be " settled and present" in UK. I know that this usually means either to be UK citizen, or have the ILR status, but it seems in case of EEA nationals they consider a " qualified" person as " settled and present"

To my understanding and reading of a couple of advisors, the My fiancé's " Registration Certificate" proves that my fiance is qualified to sponsor my application, however a few advisors have rejected the idea.

The UK embassy in US is in no help in answering.

Any idea or advice of what documents to provide?
