    We have been advised that we need to get certificates of non-service for the U.S. Military, which we have found out how to get (http://www.defenselink.mil/faq/pis/PC09SLDR.html) but does anyone know how/where to get an apostille for this document or who would issue this document? Would it be the DOD?

    From my own experience, this process should be pretty much straightforward:

    All I did was to have the DOD certificates recorded at my County Clerk's Office,
    and then have the recorded certificates apostilled by (NYS) Secretary of State.

    In my case, I didn't need a Federal Apostille; State-level was fine. Good Luck! :)

    Hey good find on that website, are you getting a separate certificate for each branch of the US military, I need to do this also.

    I found out, since my grandparents didn't becomes citizens until sometime in 1955 or 1956, the military information is not necessary.
