My parents immigrated to canada in 1927 and 1930. My father became a naturalized canadian citizen in 1932 and my mother never did. I assumed that my father lost his polish citizenship and so my application for confirming polish citizenship is through my mother.

Is this a correct assumption???

I have heard from the warsaw office and they are asking me for 3 things related to my father: birth record, proof of any military service in canada and other polish documents such as passport, id etc.

Does this mean that perhaps my father didn't lose his citizenship??

How does one get proof of military service in canada...my father never did join but i'm assuming you have to give evidence that he wasn't in the military....anybody already do this and what is involved????

thanks for your comments. The circumstances that lead to my father either losing his citizenship or maintaining it seem a bit confusing. He was born in 1900 in malice (sandomierz),immigrated to canada in 1926, became a canadian citizen in 1932, married in canada in 1934 and never served in the canadian army at any time.

When i spoke with the consul general office some time ago they advised that he lost his citizenship because he took out canadian citizenship in 1932. At this point i will just try to provide whatever information they ask for and hope for the best.
