i'm also portuguese, i was living in london for nearly 7 years, now i'm in france but will be back this summer to london.

I can put in contact with some people living there, some portuguese some not, they can guide you through and give you some good tips.

It is not easy to all the moving and changing but you already speak english, that is a very good advantage, and for what i see you are ok with the traveling and being alone in a country.
