    Hi all ,

first of all i have to thank you for all the helpful information provided in these forums . I'm applying for the eea family member permit soon and i have a couple of questions , my partner is french , we are civil union partners " french pacs " , he just moved to the uk , got the job and the apartment , applied for the national insurance number and all that's left is me  , so :

1- can we apply for the permit before he gets his national insurance number ?

2-section 8.1.11 of the application form says " eea national registration certificate number (if held)" , and he doesn't have that and he didn't apply for it since we were told that it takes almost 6 months to get , will that be a problem ? Because the check list says "9. Copy eea residence permit." which is really confusing and from all the info we have they are both the same thing .

3-do i need a certified copy of his passport , and if yes how do we get it ?

4-since our civil union "pacs" certificate is in french we are going to need a translation , does it have to be an official translation ?

5- does how much money he makes affect the outcome of the application ? And does how much money we have in the bank count also ? Because we don't really have much .

We have been apart for so long because of retarded laws so we're trying to get everything right this time so that we can be back together soon .

Thanks a lot for your answers in advance

    1 - Yes

    2 - No

3 - No but you should get it attested from a notary office.

4 - No but I would suggest check with the British High Commision you are going to apply from. They probably require the translation to be done by an authorised translator.

5 - Should be enough for all your expenses.

    Good luck

Thanks for your quick reply , i didn't really understand your answer for question 2 , by no do you mean "no it doesn't matter " or " no they are not the same thing " ?

We are really worried that he is required to have a residence card because we can't wait apart that long until he gets one .

Sorry for not being clear enough. I actually meant his registration certificate is none of the requirements. In fact, he doesn't have to apply for it at all.

One more questions , would a letter from his employer be considered as enough evidence of his employment ? Or do we have to wait until he gets his first salary in a month so that we can give them the payslips that they want ?
