    Hiya Steve,

You don't need a working permit as you're allowed to work with EEA Family Permit. However you need to apply for a Residence Card (using form EEA2) from within the UK before the expiration of your EEA Permit.

    Hope this Helps!

Yea that's correct as your wife is from A8 Country (-Estonian, Hungarian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Polish, Slovakian and Slovenian nationals), which means she will have been in a continuous employment for 12 months and must register under WRS before you will qualify for a RC (Residence Card).

However, Until this 12-month period is completed, you may apply for residence stamp (FMRS) to confirm your right of residence under European law.

    Hope this helps!

I wouldn't go back to Poland to apply if I were you, instead I'd apply for a residence stamp while I continue working on my EEA Permit until my wife's employment reaches 12months.

Note: You'll have to apply for RS while your EEA Permit is still valid.

RS= Residence Stamp. Read my post above for reference.
