    Hi,
Me and my husband applied for permanent residency using EEA3 & 4 back in Oct 2009.
I'm EU national, at the moment full-time postrag student+ working (I finished my 12 month employment under WRS).
Home Office sent me letter saying that as 'self sufficient student' I need to provide evidence that 'I hold comprehensive medical insurance (normally issued with a certificate)'.
My question is, can I use my NHS cover (I've been paying tax+NI contributions all the time)? Also if I need to have private medical insurance, does it have to cover last 5 years (because I have to prove I've been exercising Treaty rights for the last 5 years) or can I take it up just to show them that I have something?
Being here for more than 5 years and paying tax+ NI should make me eligible for NHS services, shouldn't it? I have NHS Medical car and thinking to send it to them but I am a bit cautious in case the application gets rejected.
Any help will be appreciated. Many thanks.

NHS cover is obviously not enough. You need to get what they call Comprehensive Medical Insurance as soon as possible.

Thanks for reply. Would they accept Aviva (or similar type) insurance? Will they not question the fact that I just got it now?
