    Hi, I got my EEA2 in 2008 for 5 years. Soon after that we moved back to Holland (my husband is Dutch) because I was pregnant with my second son and we wanted to be closer to our family for them to help us out with the baby. Now, 1,5 years later I am invited to go for the 2nd round of a job interview in the UK and I wonder whether my residence card is still valid. I have no idea where I can check that as I do not want to risk it and be stopped at the border. Moreover, I think it is always better to travel together with my husband (EU citizen) as my residence card is based on our marriage. Can someone advice how I can check that?Thanks!

    You got it right. Your rights to live in the UK is derived from your marriage PLUS your husband's exercise of treaty rights in the UK. If your husband is not in the UK, you are not supposed to be there either.

    Your card is still valid for travel but to be on the safe side, you should travel with your husband. Going alone would be against the conditions of your residence card and you can well be stopped and returned from the airport.
