I've received my citizenship papers and Polish BC. I'm about to apply to get my Pesel no. The thing is I've changed by middle name and surname. My Polish BC has my original name at birth but when I fill in my Pesel Application form the names won't match. I believe that the citizenship papers may explain this although I can't read Polish so I'm not sure.

Does anyone know the process of this and if this will pose a problem?

Yes the thing is I did. I did this through lawyers and whenever I wrote to him it was from my now legal name.

He said that it appears you have changed your name so I am waiting to see if I can manage to do this without taking any other further action.

But he said my case is completed. I received the BC in my old name. I just don't know if I can handle any more run around.

 

However on my I think it is citizenship papers it says my now new name with zd. my old name....so if I post them all together it should be ok maybe?

 

I've contacted the Consul and they tell me I must register my new name change in Poland. The names must match. The General in Melbourne is away and the Consul either sends me links in Polish or suggest I get a lawyer in Melbourne.
I've asked the legal dept of the consul for which docs will be acceptable as my original BC is with Icharsky and I got a generic response with no answer.

So it means having more docs translated etc. The thing is that's why I hired a lawyer in the first place. I unfortunately chose Icharsky initially which is now bust and they are going through an audit. I am yet to get my originals back.

But then I went with a Polish lawyer who got me the Polish BC but you think he would realize that it would need to be in my new name. So now it is trying to get onto him and to fix it although in his eyes he wrote me saying my case is complete...but I can't get my passport unless these changes are made.He mentioned that I had changed my name and was waiting to hear from the registrar to see if they could do it without additional costs so I just assumed he found another way as opposed to just issuing it in my old name.

Thank you for that. The thing is my original BC was hand typed and when I have requested my new BC it either has my new name only or name at birth and then my new name on the same document. (Birth Certificate)
I contacted the Consul in Australia and they can't tell me if Poland will accept it. They really weren't very helpful.

So I've contacted my Polish lawyer and have asked if they offer that service re registering name change, although you think they would have said something beforehand. Everyone must have some serious endurance to see this process through.:s
