I am 50 and have worked for the same UK company for 26 years, the last 6 at their French parent company in Paris. The company is making me redundant. Am I entilted to French redundancy terms? If so, what am I entitled to?

Yes of course. According to the EU rules (the parliament has refused to put the Bolkestein clause that wanted to use the rules of the country of origine of the company) you must comply with the rules of your host country.

By law there is a minimum redundancy payment depending of the convention your company is affiliated to in France (like 1 week of gross salary per year of work in the company in France for example). Afterwards, it's all a negociation between yourself, the unions and the company.

Redundancy terms in France are certainly solid, and always protect the employer. The UK is the Wild West in comparison to the continent.
