Hi, I'm a British passport holder, living and working in Ireland. My boyfriend is Russian, and has returned to Russia because his study Visa has expired. We want to get married, and live together in Ireland, where he would like to work, and improve his English.

We need to find out where is the easiest country for an EU and non-EU couple to marry + requirements, and the requirements in Ireland, for enabling my new husband to join me here.

Believe it or not... the UK, hubby needs to be in the UK approx 3 weeks prior to postin' the bahns...or whatever they're called, apply for a fiancee visa...and although this'll be for 12 months duration you're expected to marry within 6 months...yeah...I know it sounds like bollox but that's the deal, for postin' the bands...yeah whatever!...you need to have booked the reg office...church...pub..club...or wherever you're gonna tie the knot...not....nott....gimme a break! Mebe I aint hit the nail on the head here...but I'm not far off. Call your local registery office and they'll let you know exactly what you need to do, once married he applies for a 2 year visa...he gets it...and you live happily ever after...as long as you keep the Rooskie Standard under lock and key!....pravda....poka!!!
