Hello - I'm attempting to open a bank account (as a long-term visitor). I just read in the banking section of the site that going to the local Council and getting added to the electoral list is a great way to prove residency when in a flat share situation, which I am.

Problem is, I'm currently on a tourist visa - will they allow me to register on the electoral list? Please tell me what steps should be taken to address this, or any other creative ideas for proof of address.
