    Hi

I am NON-EEA family member of EEA nationalist, my parents are portuguese and they are here from last 5 years, and already received permenent residence in UK, but i m indian nationalist and i came UK as family member of EEA.i m also now completing my 5 years in UK, looking forward to apply for PErmenent residence, but i dont want to apply for PR under EU law, as it takes almost a year to procced PR application which is made under EU law, Homeoffice is still solving the cases which are made on this FEB 2008, so i was thinking if could apply for PR in any other category.i am not sure if it is possible or not, i m happy to pay required fee for my application to homeoffice.as if i m apply under EU law then it will be free of charge, but i dont mind spending some amount if i can get my PR in short time. if anyone has got any information which can help me then i would really appreciate that.

There is only one option that I can think of, and it is being married to a UK citizen for 3 years. So if your spouse gets British citizenship, you could apply for ILR under UK law.

Otherwise you are committed to the European track now, and you have no other option but to apply for PR. I think the website is a bit out of date, and anyway applications seem to be moving faster now, so there is a good chance that you get it within 6 months or even sooner. And you can always send the application without any originals at first, and then supply the evidence later.
