Hi everyone, can anyone let me know if they've heard anything regarding their application for residency card lately?i'm still waiting for mine despite all my complains & correspondence with the home office. All calls i've made have been to no avail as they keep saying the same thing "your application is still under cosideration".I dont know if this is a good or not as i've waited for sooooooo long.I was told in one of their responce to my complain that they had some operational problems with all Eu applications, hence the delay.I'll very much appreciate any comment from anyone in similar situation.

    Still waiting after 7.5 months!

I've applied for my visa at the end of Febuary using EEA2. Got my Certificate of Application on 17th march. Since then I have got my passport back as I needed to travel in June. when I travelled and came back i found out that I was not suppose to leave the coutry as my visa I had before that has expired.. Spent 30 minutes at the passport control in Heathrow. Got back in thankfully. But now I have been waiting for 7.5 months and I have not even had my passport requested back! I called them last week and all I got was 'its under consideration'. I want to go home for a holiday but I can't!!! Very frustrating.. Thinking of complaining to Solvit but not sure if anything will be done... :(

We are all in the same boat.
Try everyting, we wrote 2 letters to home office , complaint to SOVLIT and now also send an email to our MP.
So far, nothing really happened. Home Office, the first time, they requested the passports back , the second time, they "confirmed", it's activly considered now. But whenever we call, the application is awaitng condsideration. it's almost 8 month now.
Solvit wrote us after one week back, apparently they spoke to homeoffice and we should get the passports with the residency card in the next 2 or 3 weeks. (I'm not sure if i should really belive this)
From the MP we did not get a reply yet, but we only send it end of last week.

Hi everyone, after the last email(complain) i sent asking the reason why my applicatin was being delayed,i got a letter from the home office yesterday stating they're sorry for the delay & its due to operational problems with all Eu applications,i was sent this same letter six months ago when i first complained. It also said at the moment they cant keep a time frame as to when they'll complete my application but will be concluded as soon as possible.I could'nt help but calling this morning again and all i heard was "your application is still waiting further consideration".People do u know how long i've been waiting?17months!!!,i read about people here complaining they've been waiting for six or seven months, hey its a loooooooooong road.i complained to solvit, still aint got a responce from them as they said it takes ten weeks, written all the complain letters i could, made all the call i could but here i am still waiting, trapped like a prisoner in a free world.I think all these delays is jst inhumane.

Re: Still waiting after 7.5 months!

At least traveling may be getting easier. In Stanstead, officers were well aware that the UKBA is having problems with European applications. As long as you travel together and have a copy of your marriage certificate, you should probably be fine.

If you want to wait until you get the residence card, that could be a long time. As far as I can tell, the processing capacity is completely inadequate, and the waiting times are getting longer and longer.

EU law clearly states that residence cards must be issued within 6 months. Get a lawyer. It looks like they will muck about with every application they're allowed to get away with.

Re: Still waiting after 7.5 months!

    Hi,
Could you please tell us more about Re Entering the UK with just the certificate of application and if you are a UK visa national. Are you a UK visa national? as I am experiencing the same situation now and looking for more information about getting back without a valid UK visa while you have got your Residence card under consideration.
