Shoptime Refused entry into UK

    My American Citizen boyfriend was denied entry to the UK on 2 seperate occasions because they thought he was here looking for work, saying he hadnt got enough funds and that he wasn't here just to visit myself and friends for a holiday.

    I have just arrived back in the UK from visiting him and his family in the USA. I would love him to visit here, but hes scared to try again because of the financial hardship it caused on him when he tried last time and wasted money on plane fares etc.

    What would be the best course of action to take to allow him to visit the UK has we have looked into visa's but these dont seem appropriate has he doesnt want to stay longer than 6 months he only wants to visit for a short time.

    Before his second visit he did visit the British Embassey in Washington and did all they told him to before he came again and he was still denied access, even though he got more funds in the sum of $4000 to bring with him as well, all he wants to do is come here for a holiday but hes scared to travel anywhere now because of the black marks on his passport.

    Could you please advise us has to the correct procedure we need to take to stop him being denied access a further time.

    Similar Situation


    He needs to apply for a visitor visa to the UK. I was also denied entry, twice! I thought that coming back a month later, showing I had proof of funds, a job in the US, & intentions to enroll in a US college would be enough.
    They basically laughed in my face-saying they thought it was amazing that I thought I could get in a month later. That was in June & July this year. After giving me "relationship advice" the IO advised me to come back in 2 years on a fiancee visa. (Bollocks) Then she subtly implied I if I had a visitor visa I would be less likely to be denied entry.
    So I am positive I will need a 6 month visitor visa stamp...although, I only plan to visit during the Christmas holiday. My friend was denied entry & applied for & approved for a student visa within 2 months. I am on the verge of the whole process of applying for my visa-although I'm a bit worried.
    Has your boyfriend found any solutions? Maybe we can guide one another in this whole messy process.
    I have heard that it might be best to have an immigration lawyer assist. I'm still a student in college, & we have also spent thousands of dollars/pounds on flights. So if it's something I can do on my own, great. However, if it would basically guarantee my acceptance then a lawyer would be worth it.

    It is possible to have a visitors visa to travel to UK.

    Your friend can visit the UK by having the H1 visa by showing he has a oppurtunity thereto work.

    He can go to UK by writing Ielts exam which is an entrance exam to study over in UK , the course is MS.
