    Hi,

This is my first time in this forum, I read before and I found it very usefull! Now I have some questions, I thank you in advance if you can help me. My case is the following: My husband is from Italy and he is working in UK. I am from Colombia and I have a family permit until on the 24th of November so I need to apply for the EEA2 residence card.

    1. My first question is: Do I need to present a English certified translation of our marriage certificate? or Can we translate this document directly, without a certificate, only from a English native speaker?.

    2. I'm looking for a job in uk, because I understand that I have the right to work and I'm a qualified person academically. Can I work during the time in which my EEA2 is considered? How can I demostrate that I have this right?. I'am very worried about this subject.

    Thank you again!
    Milena

    1. For FMRS I've sent my Lithuanian marriage certificate and that was enough. Now it was explicitly required to attach English translation for EE2. I've included my own translation as it is not specified that translation has to be certified. If there are any problems, you can always argue that in EU related matters any EU language has to be accepted (assuming your marriage certifictae is in Italian).

    2. You can work during application processing. They will send you back a certificate of application (within 1-1,5 month) which basically states that your application is received and you have the right to work. They also include the number 0845 010 6677 which is a helpline for employees. Meaning your prospective employer can call there if not sure about your right to work, they will confirm that.

I hope the answer is not too confusing.
