I have received my residence card on friday.Shortly,

I applied for it on 13 october 2007.Mean time I wrote 2 complaint letters to home office.I put my complaint to solvit as well. Then I received a letter from home office regrading my complaint,it was written that my application was decided on 13 May 2008, But I received my documents after 1 month(13 june 2008).Last wednesday, solvit contacted with me about my documents,I was told my passport would be retuned shortly.

so I took 8 months to get my documents back.

    Hi guys,
just a quick remark, our case is also still not resolved, and 6 months are now due.
Well, I rang the Liverpool no and I was lucky to get through.
The person who answered the call was very helpful and wanted to chase up the case worker in our case.
He also asked me for my mobile no that we can get informed.
As this will take now up to another 20 days, I do not expect any miracles.
To be honest it may take longer as the papers have to be sent back to Croydon which seems the place where papers pile up.
Even after 6 months time we did not receive our passports back and our case is still not dealt with properly yet.
    keep it updated...

    Re: liverpool

Thanks for the post fastom, this is just the sort of information I am looking for to back a joint petition that will be lodged with the European Parliament shortly.

It would be much appreciated if you pledge your support as we would all like to see such non compliance and maladministration practices addressed and challenged by the EP. Even after receiving my residence card I will not rest until the EU Regulations are enforced and implemented in practice as they should be!

Please follow this link http://www.ukresident.com/forums/index. ... opic=70485 to a forum I am leading on this issue. We hope that the petition would be ready for signing in a week or so. I will let you all know when this happens.

Your support would be much appreciated.

    home office

    Hi guys,
just to inform you about the progree on our application for a Residence Card. After now almost 7 month: apparently the papers have been sent to Croydon from now on it should take only up to week as the person on phone told me... Well, at least we got an answer about our application which seems to be almost impossible to get as they are not allowed to give any details about any case whilst is still being processed.

As customer you expect however to be informed about your paperwork and it does not matter if there are millions of other applicants, you should still be informed and updated about the situation.

Well as things cannot be changed sometimes especially if the EU cannot put pressure on the UK system all complains seems to be useless.
Even though, I would motivate people to involve Solvit and send a complain letter to the Home Office as this probably helps more than doing nothing.
    Good luck guys

    Re: home office

Good news fastom and thanks for the update. Keep your eyes on the other forum for when the joint petition goes live. I believe this would help to facilitate some change.

    Cheers

    Hello All,

Please see this thread http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewtopic.php?t=27843. It may be useful info for anyone who wishes to travel out of the UK and apply for a EEA family permit to return to the UK (while their EEA2 application is pending at the HO).

    Cheers

    Hi guys,
we got our Residence card today. Its now 7 months and 2 weeks since we applied for it...
Eventually its over but I'm very upset that the HO can keep the passports so long without giving any information of the process...
To be honest, UK citizens should be treated in the same way abroad thats my opinion...
    All the best...

    Hi all,

My wife and I finally received today our passports together with her residence car. We tough it will be a good idea to share our experience trough the whole process for those who are experiencing the frustrating wait for an outcome.

We sent our application in 29th January 2008. A week a later we received a certificate of application from the Home Office. For about 5 months we tried several times to make contact with the costumer support line at Croydon (08706067766) to check the progress of the application, their response was always the same, is “Still under consideration”.

Thanks to one of the posts on the forum we found out that some of the EEA2 cases were actually been dealt at the Liverpool office. Four weeks away from the 6 months timeframe stated on The Immigration (European Economic Area) Regulations 2006"-Statutory Instrument 2006 No 1003- Part 3, Residence Documentation, 17(3), we wrote an email to the North West Costumer Support Team (WCSU@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk) complaining about the lack of information and trying to get a more updated status on our application. The response from this team was very good, even though they were unable to give us a proper outcome for about 3 weeks, they always replied our emails and calls within 24h of been contacted. Also, they were able to confirm location of our documents at the Liverpool office, which was very much appreciated since our experience contacting Croydon was always very unpleasant.

A week away from the 6 months we got a confirmation from NWCT that our application reached and outcome, which is consistent with another case we heard from someone who applied about two week before us. After getting a resolution, it took about a week for the passports to be sent back to Croydon, where the residence card is attached and finally delivered back to the applicants. During this time, we chased our point of contact at the NWCT many times to confirm the whereabouts of our passports, they were keen on updating the location of these, not like the people at Croydon, who are not only extremely unhelpful but their lack of support is also aggravated by their tone.

Finally, three days after our documents been received at Croydon we got our passports back with the residence card.

Hope this is gives you a little more information during the difficult wait.

    Regards

    ces

Thanks for the post cesv. I too applied for a RC at the end of January. I waited for the 6 month period to elapse before lodging a complaint. As of today (6 months and 4 days after) a caseworker has written to me requesting more recent documentation so that my application may be considered. I do not know if this means a decision may have already been reached or i'm in for another long wait. Nonetheless it def. proves that they have begun considering January applications (contrary to what the processing times on the UKBA website reflects). I will keep this thread posted.

Hi all,i hope everyone waiting for their residence card are keeping their head up and keeping the fate ,hey we still gotta put on a smile despite the treatment from these incompetent idiots at the HO.Well,as for me,after the responce i got ackowledging the receipt of my complain and saying my application is still under consideration.I kept on calling just to keep the heat on but its same old storyI eventually lodged a complain to SOLVIT and they are on my case at the moment but nonetheless,i could'nt resist giving the HO a call,so i did yesterday on 08706067766.For the first time after GOD- knows- how- many- times- i've -called,the woman on the phone was very polite, nice and considerate, she gave me a particular case worker's name at liverpool(EU case work) and asked me to write a letter with all my details asking the reason for the delay on my application and how the so called problem with "operational procedures on all EU applications" affected my application.Previously, all they just say is "your application is under consideration" and that's all we can tell you at the moment"(is'nt it weird) but its the same member of their staff who gave me this vital information. All we need is a straight forward answer and if they need further documents, they should not hesitate to request rather than pilling up applications and literally putting a hold on ppl's lives, that's pathetic.Well, without wasting time,i've written the letter and added some more documents even if they did'nt ask for it, partner's recent wage slip, utility bills and more to facilitate my application if need be.I thought i should share this recent development with everyone in similar situation,There's light at the end of the tunnel, you just gotta know what you're doing and put them in their place.

    Eea2 still being processed

Hi everyone, can anyone let me know if they've heard anything regarding their application for residency card lately?i'm still waiting for mine despite all my complains & correspondence with the home office. All calls i've made have been to no avail as they keep saying the same thing "your application is still under cosideration".I dont know if this is a good or not as i've waited for sooooooo long.I was told in one of their responce to my complain that they had some operational problems with all Eu applications, hence the delay.I'll very much appreciate any comment from anyone in similar situation.
