Hi guys, i wonder if you could help me.

I am a non-eu national with a residence card for 5 years. My passport is due to expire in few months and i will be applying for a new passport. I have few queries regarding the validity of residence card which are

    a) Can i travel overseas with an old expired passport(with residence card endorsement) and a new passport ? Is the endorsement still valid as long as i can show both the passports ?

    b) Can i transfer residence card from old passport to new passport ? If yes, what form i need to fill in and where to send it to ? How long it takes for the process ?

    c) My wife has taken my last name now. Does she need to apply for new registration certificate to change the name on the card ? if yes, can we send both applications together ? What forms do we need to fill in ?

Your response and assistance in this matter will be highly appreciated. Thank you in advance

    Hi,

    Yes.

No - you would have to apply for a new residence card - with the usual waiting period of up to 6 months.

I don't know about this one, but would be very surprised if this required any action from your part.

Hello there, Thanx a million for the quick and efficient response. So, i think i might not apply for the new residence card because 6 months wait is just too long. As long as i am able to travel by carrying both the passports. i am going to leave it as it is for the moment.

    thanx mate !!
