I am an Italian citizen living and working in the UK and have a residence document. Can my mother...who is a Nicaraguan citizen and not Italian...live and work here also? Or may she just live here with me if she is "dependent"? What kind of documentation would I need to supply? Thank you for any assistance!

Yes - direct ascendants qualify and have the same rights as you have. Have a look at http://ec.europa.eu/commission_barroso/frattini/archive/guide_2004_38_ec_en.pdf - this should help.
    Best,
    Sebastian

PS: I don't know how well the UK plays by the rules - but perhaps somebody else has first-hand experience...?
