I'm currently here in England in a 6 months tourist visa living with my BF and his family. I'm american btw, he's british. We met over a year ago online and met each other in person 7 months ago. We are inlove and want to be together.

    - Can I actually do same day visas?? I never really heard of this, so any info on that is greatly appreciated. Does it cost more to do it this way?

    - I heard that I need my fiancee's Passport aswell and well, he will be coming home with me but for only 3 weeks. He obviously needs his passport. So, I don't know what to do about that. That's why I was wondering about the same day visa thing. I feel that it would be better for me to go to the consulate in person while my Bf is with me and give them all the documents and money. Do I need to make an appointment for this?

-My Bf has a job and is living with his parents. He can support me till I'm able to work. He also has an account. I don't though. Is that ok for the whole financial support?

Will they ask about education? I dropped out of HS when I was 16 due to health problems I had. But I will be getting my GED online.

and last but not least? How long will all this take?? I heard up to 9 months!
WHOEVER RESPONDS, THANKS!!! btw- we are both 20.

Ok, first of all, do not overstay your current visa waiver. You have a couple options. You want to live in the UK with your now future husband. There are two ways to go about this.

1)Go back to the US and apply for a fiancee visa with your regional British consulate. This is a more expensive option. You cannot work in the UK with this visa until you apply for the FLR. You must apply for this visa if you absolutely must marry in the UK (and you plan to live there). Your future husband must show that he can support you until you can get a job.

2)Marry in the US and apply for a Spousal Visa from the British consulate for your region. Go back to the US and have your future husband visit. Get married. Apply for spousal visa. You can technically work as soon as you get into the UK and your employability can be used to support your application.

Whichever you choose, you will need certain documents. They will either need to be certified in the UK or notarized in the US. Be sure to tell whoever is doing them what they are for. UK certification is around £50, but you can have as many documents certified as you need at that meeting. If you cannot provide the original passport for your future husband, you will need to get a certified or notarized copy.

In the US, applications are made via post or courier. In person applications are not allowed at this time. In addition to your application (which you complete online and fill out), you will need evidence.

I don't know where the 9 month wait came from. It's more like 1 week to 1 month.

Please make sure you investigate what you need for whichever visa you choose. Btw, your lack of a HS diploma probably will not effect your application in anyway, especially if you are employable or your future husband can support you if you are not.
