Hello everyone,

I am in a little dilemma here. My wife and I are planning to move to the UK. Now she is a French and hence there is no problem for her, while me being an Indian, I have a EEA Family Permit.

I wanted to ask if I can go before her to the UK (to look for accommodation and job) or is it that she needs to be there before I am there /she needs to travel with me.

And also, after reaching there can I directly work or have I to register somewhere before I actually can work.

It would be great if some can provide some insight or pass me on a link.

Surprising it does not say anything on my permit.

It just states, UK Entry Clearance---

Then its name and EEA FP (Name of my wife)

And the expiry date of the visa

Is there something that I am missing --- probably a paper or something??

Or maybe its only for the swiss-nationals.

My wife is a French National.

Please do update me cos I am now all the more confused.

I simply do not have anything that states

EEA FAMILY PERMIT: TO JOIN/ACC SPOUSE/CP

or

EEA FAMILY PERMIT: TO JOIN/ACC RELATIVE

Maybe I will get a stamp like that from there.

I would like to ask you if I could go there before my wife could, to organize the moving. Or she should be there first as she is a French national, and i come on a EEAFP

It just states EEAFP and then the name of my wife.

0 Dependents

and then the expiry date. (Nothing more)

Anyways thanks a lot for your assistance, i will try to call the consulate.
