I have been having some difficulty trying to find correct information on this since everyone keeps telling me contradictory things. I am a US citizen and after an internship in Paris, I would like to/ and am currently looking for job opportunities here in Paris.

However, then the question of a Visa comes into play. The French embassy has said that only when the prospective company inquires for a visa on my behalf can I request a work visa for France.

However all the profitable contacts I have been able to reach for a position say they would probably be able to accomodate me IF I already had a working visa for the country.

Thus, is there anyway I can request the work visa so I can then apply to these positions. In a sense, isnt it pratical to be legal to work in a country before you apply for a job anyways? Id appreciate any help in this area.

No one has any ideas? I tried in the French forum but got even less of a response there...
