Hello everyone. Great site and kudos to everyone who follows up and keeps the information flowing. I prowled through the site as much as I could, but could not quite find any answers to any questions I had. If anyon knows about anything here, please let me know.

My wife and I recently moved to Ireland from the US. My wife renewed her Stamp 4 with the Garda; the Garda didn't know what to do with me. They sent me to the Department of Justice, they sent me back to the Garda. Finally, the Garda knew that I needed a Stamp 3.

Does anyone know the exact URL link to where I can get an explanation of the different stamps? And to a link that explains what I need to do to get those stamps?

All the thanks in the world!

My wife and I are both American. My wife has lived here off and on. When last here, she received a Stamp 4 because her step-father is a natural born Irish citizen and they renewed it when we got back.

    Hello there!

I am a South African passportholder and been married to my German husband for almost 3yrs now. We have been living in Germany for 2yrs and want to move to Ireland.
From what I can understand I should be entitled to a stamp4.

Found a post dating 2006 saying they went in on tourist visa, applied the next day at the Garda for stamp 4, got a pps number 2 days later, done and dusted in no time. Is it still that easy? Is that the right procedure?
We will be going there jobless with no proof of residence in Ireland. What else besides our passports and marriage certificate is needed?

    Many thanks

The first three month you need nothing more.

After this period you have to show your wife is still looking for a job or you have enough financial means to support yourself.
