Unfortunately I can't help you by myself as I am french too. But I know a lot of english speakers coming from all over the world.

I meet them very often, once a week (well, I try to as I am very busy). That's very easy to meet them as we are all part of the same group of volunteers who organize events for free in Paris.

You might have heard about this group in London as this group is becoming well known all around the world.

In Paris, we just reached 1000 members, but no lies, that does not mean that events are so huge that u can't really talk to someone... That means that you've got a very good choice of opportunities because each member can organize all kind of events (an admin team just verify if the event is politically correct) if he has already come at least one event. As nobody makes money, everything is free, no membership fees... all you have to pay is: your drinks if you're going in a bar, your food in a restaurant, and else...
