My fiance is currently out in the US, and we're in the beginning stages of putting together the application for her to come over as my fiance. Right now we're looking into forming a date, both in our minds AND officially, for our wedding - as I know it's seen as evidence in a healthy fiance visa application.

All I'm wondering is, does the visa become active as soon as it is processed, or does it come into effect as soon as she arrives here? I ask, because I plan to travel out one more time to bring her back with me, and to do something for the members of her family who won't be able to attend the ceremony.

Not to mention, if the application itself goes super smooth and we find the date of activation to be more than six months from our booked wedding date... how will that impact us, without us having to rebook?

 

Thank you so much, and one more thing... any declaration of intention to arrive after the clearance date, would my fiance notify them as part of the application (i.e. a covering letter) or would it be by other means?
