I hope that I will be able to find advice and answers from people on this issue. I tried calling the embassy but they are damn to busy. So here is my situation:

I am a French National living/working in the UK since sep 2001. Me and my South Korean fiancee (who is now back in South Korea) would like to get married and remain in the UK. We are now applying for a Fiancee Visa. Below is the link that list all the requirements:

We are in possession of some documents but there are some that we are not sure about:

1)A letter from your sponsor confirming that they will be responsible for your financial support and accommodation whilst in the UK

What sort of details should be included in the letter?

2)Evidence that your sponsor is settled in the UK;

* For British Citizens
o A copy of the data page of his/her passport
* For all other passport holders
o A copy of the data page and immigration stamps showing his/her settled status

As I am a EU national, I would have to provide a immigration stamp showing my settled status. I couldnt find anywhere how to get a immigration stamp. It is not clear what it is exactly. But I came up with the following interesting information about settled status:

290A. For the purposes of paragraph 290 and paragraphs 291 - 295, an EEA national who holds a registration certificate or a document certifying permanent residence issued under the 2006 EEA Regulations (including an EEA national who holds a residence permit issued under the Immigration (European Economic Area) Regulations 2000 which is treated as if it were such a certificate or document by virtue of Schedule 4 to the 2006 EEA Regulations) is to be regarded as present and settled in the United Kingdom.

I know that the registration certificate is known as EEA1. However, it seems that this application takes a while (at least a month) to be processed. So in the paragragh above, they mention also a document certifying permanent residence. Would that be EEA3?

So could EEA1 or EEA3 be valid as the immigration stamp?

Looking at the EEA1 form, it is possible to apply in person. And they offer a same-day service for application. I believe that it is faster to process than by posting. But how long does it take?

3)Your current status;

* If you are entering as a fiancée/fiancé,
o your sponsor should confirm details of your marriage plans

What kind of details?

4) Evidence of accommodation arrangements in the UK (e.g. copy of tenancy agreement or mortgage repayment) or If you will be staying with relatives, a letter from the home owner confirming that arrangements have been made and there is sufficient space

I am currently living in a double room in a shared flat in London. My fiance and I used to live together for a couple of months before she returned to South Korea. My fiancee thinks that to the eyes of the entry clearance officer, it might not be good enough to live in a double room. My plan is for us to live again in the same place for a little while until we find a flat just for us. So in the tenancy agreement, I am not sure if I should mention about the double room.

I would like to know stories from people in the same situation as me. I hope that this post will help some others.

For the marriage in FRANCE, it may be worth looking at it indeed.
I realize that marriage in UK is diificult with the paperwork it involved.
