to the above posting of websites, um it doesn't really help that much. I am in the same boat except I'm American wanting to live with my boyfriend who is a resident in England. I have been over that website of the visas a thousand times or so it would seem, my head hurts and my eyes ache from it, but I keep doing it hoping I'll find the hidden key that would unlock the way for me to move to the UK. Basically unless we want to get married there's really nothing else, oh there's the working holiday visa that's good for two years but the only glitch in that is you can't work more than 1yr. on it b/c it's not an actual working full time visa. Then there's the HSM (Highly Skilled Migrant) in which you have to score at least 75points before they'll even consider you, then if you do manage 75 points you have to pay them 350pounds for them to even look at, but really it doesn't matter b/c unless you have a masters in college (but only one equal to the universitys there in England) or your rich the chances of getting the 75 points is slim to none. OH, but there's always the unmarried partners living together, but once again you have to have proof you've been living together for the last two years. Well, how can we live together if I can't get over there?? After everything, all the red tap b.s. I must say it's no wonder there's such a huge problem with people living somewhere illegally. I am a very hard worker, skilled in numerous fields, I don't believe in being dependent upon the government, I pay my taxes & obey the laws, heck if I see trash lieing around I'll even pick it up & throw it away... yet that's not good enough it appears. I came on here hoping someone might have found that hidden key I'd talked about, but all I've found are links to the same websites I've already been to numerous times. Its disheartening and frustrating, BUT despite it all I still love England and love my boyfriend even more so I WILL find a way to get there!! When I find that way I will make sure to come back here and post it so that others may have a chance as well.

I have no idea what the difference is between a regular forum or DIY forum. And what do you mean he couldn't be bothered? He came on here didn't he, trying at least to find some information. I apologize for being snippity with you, if I hadn't been researching all this myself I probably would've suggested the same web site. Who knows, it may actually be useful to him. I am sorry for taking out my frustration over this matter on a forum poster who was just trying to help. As to why you or anyone else should bother? Well, there's way too many answers for that one, but I will pick the best one. It is best to treat others the way we would want to be treated, to help out a fellow human being when we can. Which is why I sincerely hope you accept my apologies for being rude and saying your suggestion doesn't help much.

 

LOL Um, yes, I have come to realize that money really does talk and is the key to moving to England especially. Guess I was just hoping for something more obtainable. I work hard for the money I do have and am completely able to sustain myself, however, I'm not rich so I don't have the kind of money it'd take for me to be able to just move to England w/out a job. My company (USAA) actually has an office in London, they'd start me off at 20,000 pounds a year, however, they won't even look at my application w/out a working visa good for two years. Seriously, it's like banging my head up against a wall. Oh well, I'll keep working & researching. Eventually I'll find a way or my boyfriend can just move here for two years or until we get married. Cheers!

 

Oh well,we dont wanna get in discussions here why people cant be bothered to spent 5 minutes of theire time to at least attempt to explain situations in the best way they can.I find it rather disrespectfull (mobile/cell phone writing)if asking for help.
