Can someone please give me a quick overview of the marriage process (South African fiance, I'm British)... (or just answer my 2 quick questions)

She's coming over here on a settlement visa....

----Can we apply for the Settlement (Spouse) visa IN the UK after the marriage? Or does she need to return to SA?

----Can she come to the UK (once granted the Fiance Visa) on a one way ticket?

Also... At what point can she begin work? (LLR(M) visa?)

I thought I would post up the answers to my questions in case anyone else is interested...

Your fiance CAN arrive on one way ticket with a fiance visa.

After the wedding, you can apply for a spouse visa INSIDE the UK. This can be done in person (595 pounds and 4-14 weeks by post.... 395 pounds and 10 days in person). Spouse form available from www.bia.homeoffice.gov.uk (FLRM form)

Another point of interest is that if you fiance is coming here on a fiance visa, you can not zoom off abroad to get married, as she will not then be returning as a fiance, but as your spouse (you would then need to apply for a spouse visa). Just a thought in case anyone reading was planning to nip to Vegas.
