I came into the UK with an EEA Family permit. (I'm American, husband is Polish). I can't deal with this Residency Stamp process. Without going into detail.. it has been a dissapointing distater of red tape.

My question is... Can I just leave the UK every 6 months and keep getting new EEA Family permits instead?

(PS: I know I have full legal rights in the UK regardless, but I am concerned about travelling in and out without the stamp)

    Please help!

Actually... does anyone know if I can just travel out and back to the UK without a new EEA Permit or a residence stamp if I just carry all my documents and evidence of my marriage with me? The people at the homeoffice just say "It is possible but unadvisable". In reality I really can not imagine they wouldn't let me in..

You should just apply for residence.

Thanks for your input, Triple H. I did apply for residency and waited 6 months only to have my application withdrawn due to a silly glitch in the system, having to do with the Worker Registration Sceheme. I was not officially declined or told to leave the country and they did not mark anything in my passport.

I am not prepared to give my passport up for another 6 months, so I am going to NY next week to apply for a new family permit. If they say no... I am going to travel with all my marriage documents and other evidence.

Thank you for your reply! I think its great that you have this forum and give people advice... these immigration problems cause so much stress.

PS: On top of it.. I can't re-apply. They withdrew the application because my Polish husband changed employers after he registered with the WRS, rendering the certificate invalid. I was advised for my husband to re-register on the WRS and then I can re-apply for my residence stamp. The catch-22 is... you can not register on the WRS after one month of new employment (and my husband has had this new job for about 5 months). You think the people at the home office would know this... but in fact they are useless. So in reality, I can't actually re-apply for residenct until my husband completes 12 months of straight employment

I dont know anything about WRS, so lets wait and see if somebody else have a better idea what (if anything) to do in your circumstances.
