First of all, let me apologize if this forum is intended only for immigration doubts, but any help you can provide with the situation will be greatly appreciated.

We're a family of three (my spouse and our 8-year-old son) from India. We applied for a 16-day Schengen Tourist Visa to the German Consulate in Chennai, but got rejected without being provided any reason, whatsoever. Our itinerary included Germany and Switzerland. My question is, is there another Schengen country with easier formalities? Which country would you suggest that we apply next? Most importantly, has the refusal from the German consulate sealed our fate?

This was supposed to be our first trip abroad, and my son was the most excited of all. His disappointed face prompted me to try to salvage the situation somehow. Kindly help!
